Finding a photographer is half the battle of planning a photo shoot. In what will be a series, I’ll be sharing some of the locations I’ve shot at plus my location “bucket list". Most will be locations that don’t require a venue or permit fee and a few that do. Whatever the occasion, together we’ll plan a great session! And hey, if you don’t hire me, I hope this blog helps you even just a little bit.
For my first blog, I want to share a location that is actually no longer available to shoot at. Why am I starting with this location? Well, consider this breaking news. As of January 2023, Helen’s Park off of Stella Link Rd no longer allows professional photographers to hold sessions there. I have shot at this park since 2015 including Clarissa’s senior session back in 2019. My favorite images are below. Make no mistake though, with a security guard posted, they are serious about this new rule! Rumor has it that instances of people leaving confetti, balloons, cake smash food, and other trash all over the park is the reason why the Braeswood Place HOA established this new policy. This park had so many photo ops for different occasions so it’s very unfortunate that this location is no longer an option.
You could say this is my Public Service Announcement. Please be considerate of any location you plan to take pictures at. If you don’t like cleaning up a mess at your own home, don’t make a mess at a public place.
